JR. High Youth Retreat

We spent our Friday the 13th with some of the coolest kids I know!

Started off by going to Johnson County Arboretum - where we first spent some time in solitude.  Everyone found a nice place by the lake and spent some time in the Word.  Specifically, we were reading verses on seeking God:
"Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you."  - Psalm 9:10
Afterwards, we spent some time seeking geocaches.  Don't have a clue what I'm talking about?  Check out www.geocaching.com so you won't be a "muggle" any more!  We didn't have too much luck, but did find one cache!  Decided next time we go geocaching in a forest, we'll have to go in the fall when the foliage is a bit tamer!

Then, it was pizza and a movie!  We watched "End of the Spear" - great movie based on a true story about missionaries in Ecuador.  It's a very serious, bittersweet story, but one we can all be inspired by!

Then, our nursery got a little cooler with some of the kids' artwork...  I was impressed by how creative and talented they all are!  Our nursery is definitely looking more complete now:

So, THANK YOU to all the kids (and their parents for letting them!) for spending your Friday with us!!!
